Uniworld Boutique River Cruise elevates crew management experience with successful implementation of Radiant Crewing, Radiant Payroll and Radiant Crew Portal

Based in Los Angeles, California, Uniworld offers truly all-inclusive itineraries in Europe, as well as voyages in Vietnam and Cambodia, India, Peru and Egypt—a total of 18 rivers in 26 countries worldwide. Uniworld is a member of CLIA and is highly regarded by discerning travelers, media, and cruise industry experts, having most recently been named the #1 river cruise line in the world in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021. Uniworld is a member of The Travel Corporation (TTC) family of companies, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. 

The Challenge

Prior to working with Radiantfleet, Uniworld was utilizing disconnected, and in some cases very old systems, that required multiple entries of the same data. This resulted in tedious and repetitive manual processes, a significant loss of efficiencies and an increased risk for mistakes. In addition, the complexity of having multiple employer entities in different countries, with different labor laws and rules, was proving to be a challenge. Every company has slightly different practices in the river cruise business, and Uniworld reached a pivotal point where finding a solution to their challenges was critical.

The Solution

It has taken Uniworld many years to find a system that fulfills its requirements in the way that Radiantfleet does. The decision to go ahead with the implementation of the HRIS system was taken in October 2022, and at the beginning of February 2023, Uniworld went live with the solution. The implementation and set up remains ongoing. This includes getting all ships up and running, training of the crew, and the ironing out of any queries that arise regarding system functionalities. Through Radiantfleet’s HRIS solution, it has now become possible for Uniworld to operate in a live environment in which the office, crew and vessels share information. Consequently, this has freed up critical time and boosted efficiencies in daily work routines.
